South America

Peru is one of the most fascinating countries in the world. It is rich in history, cultural traditions, and archaeological sites. Experience incredible topography from the desert fringed coast dotted with ancient cities, to the towering Andes running north to south in the central region, to the Amazon basin's rain forests that cover more than half the Peruvian land mass and provide cruising ground for nature lovers and adventurers. In almost any corner of the country, Peru offers visitors wondrous experiences, great comforts and a warm welcome.

Begin your journey in Lima, the “City of Kings,” founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535. It is a city of rare fascination and unexpected pleasures. Take a charter flight to Ica and fly over the mysterious Nazca Lines. These are a series of drawings of animals, geometric figures and birds, the smallest of which are 1,000 feet in length, etched into the surface of the desert plains. They are estimated to be 2,000 years old. Fly on to Cuzco and explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas. From there take the train to Machu Picchu and begin your explorations of this breathtaking Incan Citadel. Rail back to Cuzco and then fly back to Lima. If time permits, add on an excursion to Iquitos and take a memorable trip down the Amazon River.
